|My father has been battling throat cancer since January. He had surgery in February to remove the tumor, and there was one still on his voicebox. He went through chemotherapy and radiation. In August, he was rushed in for an emergency tracheotomy because his throat was swelling shut. We were told it was from the radiation. When they did the thracheotomy, they found a tumor on the side and back of his throat. We had to wait almost a month for surgery, and last Tuesday, they opened him up to do a laryngectomy and reconstruct his esophogus, saw the cancer had gone onto his spine, and closed him back up. They told us we just need to make him comfortable now for the next months to a year that he has left.|
My mother found information about the CyberKnife online and I've been trying to find statistics on it for spinal cancer results. Can anyone direct me to any information? I didn't find it on the Accuray website, but its possible I'm not looking in the right spot.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
